Program

Our program follows the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF). The EYLF recognises the importance of communication and language (including early literacy and numeracy) and social and emotional development. More information can be accessed at the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) website www.acecqa.gov.au. Our educators encourage children to enjoy a combination of planned play, as well as providing many opportunities for open-ended explorative play. Our indoor and outdoor environments are welcoming and well organised spaces. Our learning areas are carefully arranged to promote active learning and are based on intentional and play-based learning outcomes. Our program allows for flexibility and caters for the children’s emerging interests in all curriculum areas.

Play is seen as a crucial medium for learning and development. It acknowledges the child as capable and resourceful and allows the educators to follow the national guidelines, regulations and standards detailed in the Nation Quality Framework (www.mychild.gov.au for more information)

We offer a variety of group sizes during the day’s activity, which encourages the children’s social skills as well as establish and develop a bond with our educators. Our program is based on an individual approach where the needs of every individual child are considered and activities offered to develop their skills.

The staff attend training courses and discuss child development and management techniques at staff meetings which ensure that a high level of staff:child interaction is maintained.
